Varanasi: Rohania police have registered an FIR against 10 people, including BJP district vice-president Suresh Kumar Singh, on the orders of the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court over the alleged fraudulent transfer of a retired teacher’s property worth around Rs 50 crore.The case has been registered on charges of cheating, following allegations that the accused took advantage of the victim’s serious illness to obtain the land through forged transactions.ACP (Rohania) Awadhesh Kumar Vishwakarma said the FIR was registered in compliance with the CJM court’s directions under Section 318(4) (cheating) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). He said the complainant, Pramila Mishra, alleged that her family’s land had been grabbed. Police are collecting documentary and electronic evidence, and further legal action will be decided based on the findings.Besides Suresh, the FIR names Vishal Mishra, Ravi Upadhyay, Varunapati Upadhyay, Nitesh Rai, Ajay Kumar Tiwari, Praveen Kumar Singh, Prashant Kumar Singh, then sub-registrar Anil Kumar, and clerk Satyanshu Singh as accused.In her complaint, Pramila, a resident of Mohansarai, alleged that the accused exploited the prolonged illness of her husband, Omprakash Mishra, a retired teacher suffering from kidney disease for the past two years, to fraudulently transfer their property.She alleged that Vishal, a relative, and the family’s driver, Ravi, gained her husband’s trust on the pretext of arranging medical treatment and an Ayushman card.According to the complaint, after a dialysis session on April 7, Omprakash was taken in a semi-conscious condition to the Gangapur sub-registrar’s office, where a sale deed for 660 square metres of land was allegedly executed in favour of Nitesh. Subsequently, around 65 biswa of land and a commercial warehouse were allegedly transferred to Vishal through two gift deeds. The complainant alleged that all the properties were sold to Suresh the same night.
