Lucknow: UP BJP chief Pankaj Chaudhary said that the party’s foundation day on Monday marked not merely the birth of a political party, but a sacred occasion signifying the commencement of an ideological journey inspired by the spirit of “nation first”. Addressing party workers at the state office, Chaudhary said that the BJP emerged through the collective resolve of millions of patriots at a time when the nation was recovering from the anguish of the Emergency, attacks on democracy and an atmosphere of despair. He added that this journey — which began with limited resources but boundless determination and dedication — has established itself as the world’s largest political party. Chaudhary said that the BJP’s journey, spanning over four decades, has been about struggle, penance, sacrifice and martyrdom. This success is not the achievement of any single individual or office, but rather the result of the tireless hard work, loyalty and patriotism of millions of dedicated workers. He said that the task of elevating this journey to new heights has been accomplished by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under whose leadership the mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas” has become the very foundation of both the policy and the intent of the nation. Chaudhary said that the abrogation of Article 370 in Kashmir, the construction of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, amendments to the Waqf Act and — guided by the resolve of `Antyodaya’ — stand as proof of the BJP’s consistency between word and deed. Making specific reference to Uttar Pradesh, Chaudhary remarked that there was a time when this state was reduced to a “State of Questions”. He noted that, during that era, questions abounded everywhere, yet answers were nowhere to be found. “In those times, the state faced questions regarding law and order, safety and security of women and girls, employment of youth, roads, electricity and basic amenities, development and public welfare, corruption and nepotism, and the politics of appeasement,” he said. In an apparent attack on the opposition, Chaudhary said that for a prolonged period, UP fell victim to anarchy, Mafia Raj, appeasement politics and administrative failures. State general secretary (organisation) Dharampal Singh said that the ceaseless hard work of workers — driven by ideology, dedication and a spirit of national service — has rendered the BJP’s organisational structure both robust and expansive.
