Kanpur: Additional Sessions Judge Court Number XXVII Kamlesh Maurya convicted four persons— Sanjay Parihar alias Rinku, Abhinav Tiwari alias Chinku, Ram Ji alias Radhey Kashyap and Shubham, under Arms Act in the Bikru case. They all were nabbed with the arms used in Bikru incident.The presiding judge sentenced Ramji and Sanjay to seven-year rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 15,000 and 10,000, respectively, and Shubham and Abhinav to two and a half years rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 5,000 each.According to prosecution, on July 2, 2020 an encounter took place between police and gangster Vikas Dubey in Bikary village under Chobeypur police circle. Eight cops, including circle officer Devendra Mishra, were killed by Dubey and his men. After encounter, Vikas Dubey absconded and a few days later he was shot dead in an encounter. On March 21, Panki police arrested Sanjay, a resident of Karia Jhala in Mangalpur, Abhinav Tiwari, a resident of Dharnampur, Ram Ji alias Radhey of Tulsi Nagar and Shubham of Mangalpur from Bhauti underpass. The police recovered a carbine from the possession of Sanjay, Springfield USA-made semi-automatic rifle and 10 cartridges, one country-made 12-bore gun and 25 cartridges from Ramj alias Radhey and cartridges of AK-47 and 7.62 mm arms. One revolver and 40 cartridges, 32-bore pistol, one revolver of 38 bore and a country-made pistol and cartridges from Shubham Pal. According to Dilip Awasthi, district govt counsel, and Dinesh Agarwal, additional district govt counsel, all four accused were prosecuted and punished under the Arms Act. During the trial, except Sanjay, the remaining three accused were bailed out. All four are also accused in the Bikru case. tnn
