Varanasi: A 31-year-old mother of three from a village under Durgaganj police station in Bhadohi left home in Feb to live with a man she met on Instagram. Despite repeated requests from her husband and children to return home, she chose to stay with the man from Sitapur after appearing before a magistrate.The woman’s husband, who works in Saudi Arabia to earn a living, filed a missing complaint with Durgaganj police after returning home recently.Bhadohi ASP Shubham Agrawal said on Monday that police traced the woman and brought her to Bhadohi on Sept 9. She refused to stay with her husband and children, following which police sent her to a One Stop Centre. Later, her statement was recorded before a magistrate, where she expressed her wish to live with the man from Sitapur.Following the legal process, she left with him despite her children requesting her to return home and stay with them.The woman’s husband told police that they had married in 2012 and had three children, the eldest being a 13-year-old boy. She lived with her children and in-laws while her husband worked in Saudi Arabia to support the family.In her husband’s absence, the woman came in contact with a resident of Sitapur through Instagram. Their conversations became frequent, and the man allegedly visited Durgaganj market several times to meet her. Over time, the two developed a relationship.In Feb, the woman suddenly went missing from her home. Despite searching at all possible places where she could have gone, the family could not trace her. After learning about her disappearance, her husband returned from Saudi Arabia and filed a missing complaint at Durgaganj police station.During the investigation, police traced the woman living with the man from Sitapur. Both were brought to Durgaganj police station on September 9. Her husband and children repeatedly requested her to return home, but she chose to stay with the man.
