Bengaluru: Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths arrested former rowdy sheeter Yeshaswini Gowda under the Karnataka Control of Organised Crime (KCOC) Thursday.According to police, Yeshaswini played a vital role in the kidnapping of a realtor, Manoj, from Mahalakshmi Layout in the northern part of the city, on Aug 28 last year in connection with a financial feud. “Yeshaswini harboured one of the prime suspects and misled the investigating police officials. In connection with this case, we booked her under KCOCA,” a CCB source said. Aged around 50, Yeshaswini Gowda is the first woman rowdy sheeter in Bengaluru city. She was declared a rowdy sheeter at Subramanyapura police station, south Bengaluru, around a decade ago. Later, her name was removed from the list.
She made headlines in May 2016, when cops booked her in an attempted-murder case and reached a private hospital to arrest her. However, she escaped from the hospital and surrendered before police after evading arrest for 112 days.
