Bengaluru: Namma Metro passengers faced difficulties in purchasing tickets and recharging travel cards through the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) system Tuesday evening, allegedly due to technical issues. The disruption affected multiple UPI-based payment applications, causing inconvenience to commuters across several Metro stations.BMRCL operates a 96-km Metro network with 83 stations. An official said commuters began experiencing issues with UPI payments around 6pm, and the problem persisted for some time.
“There were no issues with our systems. Digital transactions did not go through due to outage. It was not limited to Metro alone, as people reportedly faced issues with other transactions as well during evening hours,” the official said.
