Bengaluru: The CCH 57 Court Monday rejected the interim bail petition of Pavitra Gowda, accused No.1 in the murder case of Renukaswamy from Chitradurga, who had sought temporary relief citing her daughter’s examinations.Pavitra, the girlfriend of actor Darshan, another accused in the case, had filed the petition seeking 25-day interim bail on Feb 10. The court directed the prosecution to file objections on Feb 12. After hearing arguments from special public prosecutor Prasanna P Kumar and Pavitra’s counsel, the court rejected the petition. The prosecution argued that since the Supreme Court had rejected the regular bail granted by the high court, interim bail should not be granted for such reasons. It also stated that as the trial has already begun in the case, the interim bail petition should be rejected. Coincidentally, Monday was Darshan’s 49th birthday.Another accused, Nagaraj, who is also in prison, has filed an interim bail petition citing his wife’s chronic disease and surgery. The prosecution objected to the petition Monday, and the hearing has been adjourned.Chaos near Darshan’s houseDespite knowing that Darshan is lodged in Central Prison, Parappana Agrahara, many fans gathered in front of his house in Rajarajeshwarinagar. As the crowd grew, police rushed to the spot and dispersed them, placing barricades a few metres away to stop people from approaching the residence. One fan, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, attempted to go near the house and got into an argument with police after being stopped. A police sub-inspector, who tried to convince him to leave, eventually slapped him after he allegedly began abusing the officials.
