Bengaluru: Two youths riding a newly purchased Royal Enfield GT 650 motorcycle were killed and a third rider sustained injuries after the two-wheeler crashed into a tree on Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan Road in Yelahanka late Tuesday.The deceased, Yeshwanth S, 24, and Kiran Devaramuni, 25, and the injured man, Gautham K, 28, shared a house in Dodda Bommasandra and were contract workers at BEL. All three were not wearing helmets at the time of the accident.Police said Yeshwanth purchased the motorcycle a week ago and the three were on their way to a dhaba to have food around 12.50am. After riding down the ramp of Veer Savarkar flyover, Yeshwanth jumped a speed breaker at high speed and travelled around 100 metres. He lost balance and hit the footpath. Yeshwanth and Kiran, who was sitting in the middle, hit the tree and sustained severe head injuries. Kiran died on the spot and Yeshwanth on way to hospital. Gautham sustained injuries and is out of danger.Quoting Gautham, a senior police officer said Yeshwanth was speeding at over 130 kmph. Yeshwanth, a native of Kolar Gold Fields in Kolar, was the only son of his parents. Kiran was from Dharwad and Gautham belongs to Hassan.
