Begusarai: The body of a PSU bank assistant manager was recovered under mysterious circumstances from his rented house at Nirala Nagar under Ratanpur police station area in Begusarai on Sunday evening. The deceased was identified as Brijmohan Guddu, who was posted at the Maharatpur branch under Singhal police station area. He was physically disabled and had an amputated leg.According to family members, a foul smell emanating from the house alerted neighbours. “A courier office operates in the front portion of the building where he lived. When staff reported for work in the evening on Sunday, they sensed a strong odour. The house owner entered the room and found Brijmohan lying naked on the bed. The body was mutilated and the room was in a mess,” said Harendra Singh, the deceased’s uncle.Brijmohan’s wife, Juhi Singh, said he had been living alone in Begusarai while she stayed with their six-year-old son and in-laws at Didarganj in Patna. “I last spoke to him on June 24. He said his phone charger was not working and he was facing difficulty talking. He had promised to visit us on June 26. I grew concerned when he did not turn up and was planning to come here. Today, I was informed that his body had been found,” she said.A bank employee, Sanjit Mahto, described Brijmohan as soft-spoken and said he had no known enmity with anyone. “He had not been coming to the bank for the past week without informing anyone,” he added.Ratanpur SHO Niraj Kumar said, “The case is being investigated from all possible angles.”
