Lucknow: The Airports Authority of India’s (AAI) Ayodhya airport development project has received the IINA Platinum Award 2026 in the best construction project category at the ISDA Infracon National Awards. The award was presented during a ceremony held at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi last week.The award was accepted on behalf of AAI by Dhirendra Singh, airport director of Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhya.According to AAI, the project was selected by an expert jury for its planning, engineering, construction quality and focus on infrastructure development. “The recognition highlights aspects such as safety standards, quality management practices and environmental considerations incorporated into the project,” Singh said.“The Ayodhya airport development is part of broader efforts to improve regional air connectivity and expand aviation infrastructure. The project is expected to support passenger movement and contribute to tourism and economic activity in the region,” he added.The award ceremony was attended by representatives from the infrastructure, construction and aviation industries, along with other stakeholders from across the country.
