A Mahindra Thar SUV, featured in viral clips of the Paratwada sex scandal, has been traced to a local resident who claims he lent it for a social media reel.

AMRAVATI: The black Mahindra Thar SUV seen in viral clips circulated online in connection with the Paratwada sex scandal has been traced to a local resident. The SUV owner claimed the vehicle was lent only for shooting a social media reel.Police sources said the SUV (MH-27 DL 3100) is registered in the name of Rajesh Roshanlal Prajapati, a resident of Paratwada. Prajapati, in his statement to police, said he had limited acquaintance with the main accused, Ayaan Ahmed, through an online marketplace platform where discussions related to mobile phone purchases had taken place. However, no transaction was finalised, he claimed.According to Prajapati, Ayaan had approached him between September and November 2025 with request to allow the vehicle for shooting a reel. “He is from the same town. He said it was only for making a video, so I allowed him to use the SUV,” Prajapati told police.

On concerns over visuals showing a firearm in the video, Prajapati said the weapon is just an airgun used to scare away monkeys and wild animals from agricultural fields. He also denied ownership of the mobile phones seen in the footage.Police have recorded his statement and said verification is underway to establish the nature of his links with the accused and the circumstances under which the vehicle was used.
