Gurgaon: An auto driver was allegedly held hostage and assaulted by three financiers over a monetary dispute in the South City-1 area on Friday.The victim, Santosh, a resident of Bhondsi, sustained multiple injuries and is undergoing treatment at a hospital after managing to escape late at night. He later filed a complaint at the Sector 40 police station.As per the complaint, Santosh had financial dealings with the men. The trio, Yogi, Sachin and Vikas, who work as financiers in South City-1, reached Santosh’s workplace at Wazirabad and took him along on the pretext of settling accounts. Later, the accused allegedly confined him in a room and assaulted him and also subjected him to mental harassment.“Those people were trying to kill me. They were drunk at the time and assaulting me with sticks. After some time, I managed to sneak out and escape. I was successful, otherwise they all would have killed me,” Santosh said. He managed to reach home in a severely injured state and his family members subsequently took him to a hospital.An officer said, “We are trying to verify the details. We will take necessary action against the culprits.” Members of the Haryana auto union have extended support to the victim and demanded strict action against the accused.
