Ambala/Kurukshetra: Amid concerns over occasional disturbances that raised fears of energy supply disruptions, the district administrations of Ambala district and Kurukshetra district assured residents that there was no shortage of LPG, petrol, diesel, or CNG, and that adequate stocks were available to meet demand.Officials appealed to the public not to believe rumours or resort to panic buying, stating that oil companies and distributors were directed to maintain sufficient supplies to ensure uninterrupted availability of fuel and domestic gas cylinders.In Ambala, district food and supplies controller (DFSC) Nishant Rathi urged all domestic LPG consumers to book gas cylinders only through mobile phones or online platforms instead of visiting gas agencies in person. The step was suggested to prevent unnecessary crowding at distribution centres.He said all gas agencies in the district currently have sufficient stock of domestic LPG cylinders, and residents should not indulge in unnecessary hoarding. To prevent stockpiling and ensure fair distribution, oil companies introduced a rule under which new LPG bookings will be accepted only after 25 days from the last delivery.Rathi also informed that under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, completion of KYC verification is mandatory for consumers to receive LPG delivery. Consumers were advised to visit their respective gas agencies to complete the KYC process, as bookings from those who did not complete the formalities will not be accepted.Meanwhile, in Kurukshetra, deputy commissioner (DC) Vishram Kumar Meena said the district has adequate supply of petrol, diesel, CNG, and LPG, and all oil marketing companies and LPG distributors were instructed to maintain sufficient stock levels.To ensure smooth supply and strict monitoring, the administration appointed the additional deputy commissioner (ADC) as the nodal officer, while all sub-divisional magistrates (SDMs) were directed to closely monitor fuel stock and distribution in their respective sub-divisions.The DFSC was also tasked with keeping strict vigil on black marketing, overcharging, and misuse of domestic LPG for commercial purposes.The DC warned that any violation of the orders will invite strict action under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955. Officials were instructed to submit daily reports and maintain close coordination with oil companies to ensure uninterrupted supply of petroleum products across the district.Consumers facing issues related to LPG cylinder delivery after booking can lodge complaints with oil companies through their toll-free numbers — BPCL: 1800-22-4344, IOCL: 1800-2333-555, and HPCL: 1800-2333-555.The administrations of both districts reiterated that fuel and LPG supplies remain stable and urged citizens to cooperate by avoiding panic buying and following the prescribed booking procedures.Ends MSID:: 129575122 413 |
