City police have stepped up their crackdown on illegal foreign nationals, with 31 Bangladeshi nationals identified in Electronics City division sent for deportation Sunday. The deportees, traced and detained over the past few months, were sent by train from Bengaluru to Malda Town in West Bengal, following verification and deportation orders from the FRRO. A 20-member police team escorted them. Chennai: A total of 19 cobra hatchlings were rescued from beneath the concrete flooring of a house in Egmore by the forest department on Sunday.According to officials, a resident spotted eggs in the backyard and alerted the forest department. Anti-poaching guards from the Guindy forest range reached the house and identified them as cobra eggs.
