In 2025, celebrity stylist Rob Zangardi founded Auter on the simple belief that the coat is the outfit.
After more than two decades dressing some of the world’s most recognizable figures, Zangardi believed that outerwear is often the first thing people notice and the piece that defines an entire look. Yet he felt there was an opportunity to create coats that combined the precision of luxury tailoring with the ease and confidence of everyday dressing.
Drawing on years of styling experience, Zangardi created Auter to reimagine outerwear as the foundation of a wardrobe rather than an afterthought. Every silhouette is designed with intention, balancing proportion, structure, movement and comfort to create pieces that feel timeless and effortlessly modern.
