Hyderabad: The driver of a company involved in ATM cash replenishment work stole ₹17 lakh from the company van and fled on Tuesday in the IS Sadan area. Police have launched a manhunt to nab the accused.According to the IS Sadan police, at 12.30 pm, a van belonging to Clear Security Services (CSS) in Balanagar, entrusted with replenishing cash in SBI ATMs, reached IS Sadan. The van was parked slightly ahead of the ATM centre.“The two ATM technicians, along with the security guard, went inside the ATM to load cash into the machine. Taking advantage of the situation, the driver of the van stole a bag containing ₹17 lakh and got off the vehicle,” an IS Sadan police officer said.The accused driver, Srinivas, hopped onto a bike waiting nearby and fled the spot. Based on a complaint filed by ATM technician Suresh, IS Sadan police registered a case against Srinivas under Section 303 (theft) of the BNS.
