Surat: Hetvi Chaudhari from Tapi district has been selected for the Assam Rifles in the meritorious sportsperson quota. She will join the Assam Rifles in Sep 2026 at the post of riflewoman. From Unchamala village, Hetvi shifted to Bodeli after her father shifted their for his job. Starting archery on the grounds of Bodeli, she won a gold medal in her very first national competition. She was also trained under Olympian Reena Kumari and exposure in South Korea further refined her game. She is currently pursuing the second year of her BA course at Bodeli College. She was inspired to take up archery by her coach, Mukesh Rathwa, when she was in Class VI. Her achievements in national tournaments led to her being picked by the Assam Rifles.
