Rajkot: A 20-year-old woman died during treatment at Rajkot Civil Hospital early on Tuesday after allegedly poisoning herself at her home in Hathsani village of Vinchhiya taluka.Police have launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances that led to the death of Ravina Rangpara, 20, who was aspiring to join the police. She had recently taken the police recruitment examination in Bhavnagar.On June 28, her parents ostensibly reprimanded her over farm-related work. Later that night, she allegedly poisoned herself.Her family rushed her to the govt hospital in Vinchhiya and doctors referred her to Rajkot Civil Hospital for advanced treatment. She died at around 4.20am on Tuesday.Rajkot Rural police sent the body for a postmortem and are recording statements of family members.Police said Ravina was the youngest of five siblings, with three sisters and a brother. The family is engaged in farming.
