NEW DELHI: AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday appealed to the Centre not to initiate any action against students protesting near Jantar Mantar over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak, warning that any “misadventure” would prove “counterproductive” and further intensify the agitation.In a video message posted on X, Kejriwal claimed that security arrangements had been strengthened around the protest site and alleged that internet services had been suspended in some nearby areas.“My appeal to the central government is that it should not undertake any such misadventure,” he added.Referring to reports of possible police action, the former Delhi chief minister urged the Centre not to crack down on students, claiming that they were protesting peacefully.He claimed that shifting activist Sonam Wangchuk from the protest site had failed to quell the movement and alleged that the use of tear gas against students had instead added momentum to the protests.Calling the protesters members of Gen Z, Kejriwal said they were not easily intimidated.(With PTI inputs)
