Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Police launched a manhunt after a 26-year-old undertrial prisoner escaped from judicial custody in Upper Subansiri district late on Monday night.The accused, identified as Gokul Barman, fled from judicial custody in Daporijo at around 11.30 pm on July 20. He is facing trial for forgery in a case registered at Daporijo police station under Sections 306, 316(2) and 336(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).Police issued a lookout notice describing Gokul as about 5 feet 2 inches tall, medium-built, with a tan complexion. He has dark eyes, a thin moustache and a slight goatee, and was last seen wearing a light blue shirt and blue shorts.Police said the public should not approach him directly and urged people to share any information on his whereabouts. “The identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential,” police said.Anyone with information has been asked to contact the Daporijo police control room.
