Jhansi: The Indian Army emerged as a saviour for a 43-year-old woman biker who was seriously injured in a road accident on the Jhansi-Gwalior road on Wednesday evening..As per the information, the woman, identified as Shyni CV, a resident of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, had undertaken a nationwide ride to spread awareness against drug abuse.She was travelling from Katni in Madhya Pradesh towards Gwalior when a tanker allegedly struck her motorcycle near Jhansi, leaving her with multiple fractures.After the accident, Shyni managed to contact members of her biking network, including some Army personnel. Acting on an SOS message, Army officials alerted the local 614 AD Brigade Signal Company, which immediately dispatched a team to the spot.A senior Army officer said personnel reached the accident site, arranged for Shyni’s evacuation to Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College in Jhansi, informed the local police and ensured that her belongings, including valuables, were safely handed over to the authorities.Speaking to TOI, Shyni’s son, Lenin Joshua, 25, a student of Delhi University, said some passersby used his mother’s phone to make a video call and inform the family about the accident.He said he reached Jhansi late on Wednesday and shifted his mother to a hospital in New Delhi on Thursday for advanced treatment, citing the seriousness of her injuries.“I am extremely grateful to the Indian Army for helping my mother and ensuring she received immediate medical care. They even assisted and escorted me after I arrived in Jhansi,” Joshua said.He said his mother would resume her journey once she recovers.Meanwhile, Sipri Bazar SHO J.P. Chaubey said police were awaiting a formal complaint from the victim before registering a case against the tanker driver.
