Hazaribag: Army jawan Dhananjay Kumar Dev, 28, a resident of Kanchanpur village in Hazaribag district, was found hanging from a tree in a forest near Charwa dam on Friday morning, police said.Police said they were investigating both suicide and murder angles. Dhananjay, who was posted in Kolkata, was scheduled to leave for duty on Friday and had already booked his ticket.Locals spotted his body and informed police. A team reached the spot, brought down the body and sent it for post-mortem examination to Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College and Hospital.Police said no suicide note or significant clue was found during an initial inspection of the area. Investigators are examining Dhananjay’s recent activities, contacts and movements, including how and when he reached the forest.Villagers said Dhananjay was allegedly in a relationship with a young woman from the same village. Police are probing whether his personal life was linked to his death.“Further action will be taken based on the post-mortem report, evidence collected from the spot and statements of family members and others,” Pelawal police station officer in-charge Bittu Rajak said.Relatives reached the spot and later went to hospital.
