Silchar: Indian Army personnel detected and destroyed three suspected improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in Manipur’s Jiribam district, averting a potential threat to civilians and security personnel, Army sources said on Saturday.The suspected IEDs were detected in the Ahamadabad area of Jiribam on Friday following specific intelligence inputs. Troops of the Red Shield Division, under the Spear Corps, cordoned off the area and took precautionary measures to keep civilians away from the site.An explosive detection dog was deployed to examine the suspicious objects. After the presence of explosives was confirmed, an Army bomb disposal team safely destroyed all three devices at the spot, sources said.The operation was carried out without any casualty or damage, officials said. Movement in the area was restored after the devices were neutralised and the site was declared safe.The Army said its troops continue to maintain vigilance in the region and coordinate with the local population and civil administration to address security threats and ensure civilian safety.
