Chandigarh: A salon worker was seriously injured after he was allegedly attacked with sharp-edged weapons by a group of armed men in Vikas Nagar, Mauli Jagran, on Thursday afternoon. Police identified the injured person as Gufran, a resident of Vikas Nagar, who sustained deep cuts on his hands and multiple parts of his body. He was taken to GMCH-32, where he is undergoing treatment.According to the victim’s brother, Muhammad Irfan, the incident was linked to an old enmity. He said that some time ago, a group of youths stood outside their house in Vikas Nagar and used abusive language. When Gufran asked them to stop, they allegedly beat him up. Irfan said that although they had lodged a complaint with the Mauli Jagran police station, no concrete action was taken against the accused.Irfan alleged that the same group targeted Gufran again on Thursday while he was working in his salon. He claimed that Mani, Gurkha, Vicky, Deepak, Sahil, Golu, Gaurav and other individuals came armed with sharp-edged weapons and launched an attack as soon as they reached the spot.Local residents helped rush Gufran to GMCH-32 immediately after the assault.
