Dimapur: Inspector General, Assam Rifles (North), Major General Harinder Singh Mavi, on Saturday directed the force to provide timely and need-based assistance to flood-affected residents of Tizit in Mon district.Mavi issued the directive during a visit to flood-hit areas to assess the impact of the recent floods on residents and essential infrastructure. He visited Holy Trinity School, Tizit, and reviewed the damage to its infrastructure. He also met school authorities to assess the immediate requirements for restoration and rehabilitation.Tizit town chairman, secretary and general body members apprised Mavi of the difficulties faced by residents, including the need to restore essential infrastructure, rehabilitate affected families and provide timely assistance to flood victims.Mavi assured the local representatives that the Assam Rifles would extend support for relief, restoration and rehabilitation efforts.
