Times News NetworkKanpur: The Anti-Corruption department team on Tuesday evening caught junior engineer Ranglal Pal, posted at the new power sub-station in Jhinjhak in Kanpur Dehat, while taking a bribe of Rs 20,000. The team brought him to Akbarpur police station, where he is being questioned.Contractor Puneet Kumar of Rasoolabad said that he had been doing contract work in the electricity corporation for the last two years. A few months ago, he carried out line repair work in the substation feeder and the payment for this work was due, but the JE was demanding Rs 20,000 from him, Kumar said. When the payment was not made, he complained to the Anti-Corruption team, he added.The team reached Mati on Tuesday, laid a trap, and at around 4 pm caught the JE red-handed while taking the bribe.
