Kolkata: Accusing West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for not giving land for border fencing, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Saturday all border fencing related work will be completed within 45 days after BJP comes to power in Bengal, after the coming assembly polls.

Calling 2026 as the year “parivartan” in Bengal, Shah gave a clarion call for formation of “Sonar Bangla” under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying time has come when the corrupt Trinamool Congress government will be ousted.

“Infiltration is an issue related to our national security. The infiltrators are taking the employment of our youth. Every infiltrator will be repatriated. This is why Mamata Banerjee is scared of Special Intensive Revision (SIR). BJP is supporting SIR and we will extend all support to ECI that a clean electoral roll is made,” Shah said in a “Karyakarta Sammelan” in SIliguri.

“In an order, Calcutta High Court has directed to give land to BSF by March 31 this year. Don’t think, Banerjee will give land to BSF. Her votebank is composed of infiltrators. HC’s decision will not be accepted by March. Come April, coming to power, our new Chief Minister will ensure that it is done in 45 days,” Shah said, during his speech in North 24 Pargana district’s Barrackpore.

Shah accused West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for not giving land for fencing. “The infiltrators are entering through the unfenced and riverine areas and you are making forged documents and helping to go to other parts of the country,” Shah lashed out at the West Bengal Chief Minister.

Asserting that BJP will come to power with 50% vote share in the coming Bengal assembly elections, Shah stressed that BJP aims to form infiltration-free, syndicate-raj and corruption-free and investor friendly government with employment for youth after assembly polls.
Talking about SIR, Shah assured the Matuas and Namasudras not to get intimidated by Mamata Banerjee and extended support to the ECI for the SIR, which will weed out infiltrators from Bengal. He noted that Union Minister for Shipping (MoS) Santanu Thakur had been expressing concern about Matua apprehension.Shah promised to start a probe on corruption under a Supreme Court judge and all culprits will be punished.

He will address another one in North Bengal’s Siliguri who spoke about how people of North Bengal are deprived by the Trinamool government and how PM Narendra Modi’s schemes fail to reach North Bengal and attempts are made to commercialise the tea garden land.

Anandapur

Shah condoled the death of the workers who died in Anandapur warehouse and told Mamata Banerjee government to take measures to punish the perpetrators. He slammed the Anandapur fire incident, while addressing a ‘Karyakartas Sammelan’ in Barrackpore.

“Around 25 people died and 27 are missing. Why did this incident happen?’ Shah questioned.

“Why will the owner of the Momo Factory not get arrested? I want to ask Mamata Banerjee, had they been infiltrators, would your reaction have been the same? Why are you doing votebank politics?” he questioned

Vande Mataram

Speaking about the 150 anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’, Shah spoke on how iconic Bengal writer Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay’s song became a voice of freedom movement in India. “Modi’s government is celebrating the 150 years of Vande Mataram from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, Gujarat to Bengal.”

“It is very significant for the country. Vande Mataram is not only a song but the country’s patriotic voice and when Rabindranath Tagore sang, freedom fighters utter “Vande Mataram” before sacrificing their lives,” Shah said.
