Panaji: South Goa MP Captain Viriato Fernandes (retd) questioned the attempts to downplay the seriousness of the water contamination at the Prabhu Violetta colony at Dabolim. He demanded an independent probe into alleged lapses and possible financial links between officials and the real estate developer.He said that attempts are being made by officials to protect the property builder. The health of residents has been ignored, he added. “Govt officials are involved. Action should have been taken, but nothing has been done. They talk about sarkar tumchya daari, and here authorities are calling them to their offices,” said Fernandes. tnn
