Prayagraj: Shashwat Mani, an alumnus of the Centre of Behavioural and Cognitive Sciences (CBCS), Allahabad University, has joined the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), USA, for a five-year fully funded PhD programme in Biomedical Engineering.He will pursue doctoral research under Prof Bharat Biswal, a noted expert in neuroimaging and cognitive neuroscience. Mani’s research focuses on learning, perception and memory using behavioural methods and functional MRI (fMRI).A Computer Science graduate from United Institute, Naini, and MSc holder from CBCS, Mani previously worked as a junior research fellow with IIIT-Hyderabad, studying neural mechanisms of learning.CBCS Head Prof Bhoomika Kar and assistant professor Amrendra Singh congratulated Mani, praising his research aptitude and strong foundation in neuroimaging. Mani expressed gratitude to Prof Biswal and NJIT, saying he would strive to justify the trust placed in him.
