Chandigarh: The Haryana govt on Thursday highlighted its focus on strengthening health care services in the state during the 5th day of the budget session of the Assembly.CM Nayab Singh Saini said that the state govt is committed to providing better healthcare services to its citizens. As part of this effort, district-level hospitals are being equipped with facilities such as CT scans, MRI and digital X-rays. 10 such hospitals were already upgraded and dedicated to the public, while others are in the process of being enhanced, he said.

CM Saini added that the work of upgrading district hospitals is progressing at a rapid pace. These hospitals are being fitted with modern laboratories, CT scans, MRI, digital X-rays, ultrasound, and private wards to provide comprehensive healthcare services to the people. Health and family welfare minister Aarti Singh Rao added that govt is strengthening healthcare services under the Ayushman Scheme. She said that the scheme provides approximately 2,694 treatment packages covering surgical procedures, day-care treatments, medicines, and diagnostic tests.The minister further informed that, as of February 20, 2026, the total number of active Ayushman cards in the state stands at 1,38,47,905. She added that under the Ayushman Bharat-Chirayu Haryana Scheme, all 2,694 treatment packages were made available during January 2024, October 2024, and January 2026. Besides this, any treatment packages not included in these packages are booked under an “unspecified” category empanelled hospital and processed accordingly.She also shared information about the setting up of a cath lab in Kalpana Chawla Hospital in Karnal.111 villages having over 11,000 populations to have smart lanes.Haryana Development and Panchayat minister Krishan Lal Panwar said that, just as cities have clean and well-organised streets, villages should also have ‘Smart Gali’ developed on the same pattern. In this direction, 111 villages across the state were identified where the number of voters is more than 10,000. Badli village in the Badli Assembly constituency was also included in this scheme. An amount of Rs 1,19,39,000 will be spent on developing a ‘Smart Gali’ there. Haryana Public Health Engineering minister Sh Ranbir Gangwa said that Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini is committed to ensuring the ‘Har Ghar Nal Se Jaal’ tap reaches every household. In line with this vision, the department is working continuously to ensure the provision of drinking water in newly developed regular colonies. He said that recently, drinking water supply plans for 25 regular colonies in Jhajjar were prepared, and estimates for these projects were also completed.Mahagram villagesHaryana Development and Panchayats minister Krishna Lal Panwar said that, due to population growth in rural areas, the govt granted the status of “Mahagram” to villages with over 10,000 residents. These Mahagrams are being provided with urban-style sewerage systems and essential infrastructure to improve the quality of rural life.New HSVP sectors in TauruHaryana Social Justice and Empowerment minister Sh Krishan Kumar Bedi said that 367.86 acres of land were acquired in 2013 for the development of Sectors 7, 8, and 11 of the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP), Taoru. Out of this, a portion of Sector 11 was developed by HSVP over an area of 66 acres, comprising 362 plots of various sizes. However, in the 3 e-auctions conducted so far, an adequate response was not received and no plot could be allotted. Therefore, development work in Sectors 7 and 8, and in the remaining part of Sector 11, has not yet commenced. MSID:: 128817587 413 |
