Chennai: Shastri Nagar police questioned Kayalvizhi Alagiri for two hours on Tuesday in a case relating to the assault of a State Bank of India (SBI) branch manager. After inquiry, she was instructed to remain in the city and inform investigators before travelling.Kayalvizhi owns the commercial building housing SBI’s NRI branch in Adyar. On July 20, she visited the branch after manager Harshin Singh raised concerns about a malfunctioning lift that had not been repaired by maintenance staff.An argument broke out between the two over the issue, during which Kayalvizhi slapped Singh, police said. The incident was captured by the bank’s CCTV cameras, and the footage later circulated on social media.Police registered a case against Kayalvizhi on charges of assault and criminal intimidation following a complaint from SBI NRI branch chief manager Namachivayam.
