Nagpur: Neelam Chaturvedi, mother of NEET aspirant Akanksha who died by suicide due to stress following the paper leak controversy, said her daughter will not return with anyone’s resignation.“Resignation is the first step towards what we are fighting for. You all are my children. Continue the protest until all demands are met,” she said while addressing youngsters at Samvidhan Square where celebrations started immediately after Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation on Saturday afternoon.By evening, the Centre accepted the remaining two demands of the agitating students, after which the protest was called off.On Friday, Neelam Chaturvedi had extended full support to the student agitation while demanding justice and compensation for families of all NEET suicide victims.

Akansha, elder of two siblings, was preparing for NEET-UG in Nagpur. She died by suicide days after the NEET retest was announced following the paper leak. In her suicide note, she wrote, “I no longer have the courage to appear for the NEET exam again.”Opposition leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, had blamed the Union govt for Akanksha’s death.
