Jaipur: Ajmer police arrested two men in separate operations over 24 hours and seized illegal firearms, officials said Wednesday.Ajmer SP Harsh Vardhan Agarwalla said that in the first case, Gandhinagar police arrested Iqbal, a resident of Jaipur Rural, near Chakla Market during routine checking. Police recovered a country-made pistol, or desi katta, from him and seized his motorcycle. A case was registered under the Arms Act.In the second operation, the District Special Team and Ramganj police arrested Anwar, 26, a resident of Somalpur, in the Transport Nagar area after receiving a tip-off about an illegal weapon delivery.Police said the team intercepted him at a secluded spot and recovered an illegal pistol and a magazine from his possession.Officials said further investigation is under way to trace the supply chain of the seized weapons and determine their intended use.
