Chennai: AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami reiterated that the AIADMK was not holding alliance talks with TVK.Speaking to reporters on Sunday in Chennai, EPS said the possibility of more parties joining the AIADMK – BJP front remained open. However, responding to a question on whether TVK would join the alliance, EPS said neither the AIADMK nor leaders in its alliance held any talks with the party. “So, the question of that leader joining us does not arise,” he told reporters when asked if he wished TVK to join AIADMK front. His remarks come in the backdrop of speculations that there were last-minute attempts to draw Vijay into the NDA.Meanwhile, AIADMK set up committees to hold seat-sharing talks and prepare the party’s manifesto, hours before the Election Commission of India’s announcement of the 2026 poll schedule on Sunday. The seat sharing committee would comprise K P Munusamy, Dindigul C Sreenivasan, S P Velumani and B Valarmathi. The panel is expected to begin soon formal talks with AIADMK’s allies, including the BJP and the PMK faction led by Anbumani Ramadoss. AIADMK also revamped its governing council. Palaniswami will chair the governing council while the body will have presidium chairman A Tamil Magan Hussain and senior leaders K P Munusamy, Dindigul C Sreenivasan, S P Velumani, B Valarmathi, P Venugopal, A Justin Selvaraj and I S Inbadurai as members. Additionally, separate committees to deal with legal issues, plan campaigns and media co-ordination were formed.
