Ahmedabad: The education authorities have imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on a school in Shilaj, for failing to display the fee regulatory committee’s order.The action on Anand Niketan school follows a hearing conducted on June 29.According to officials, as per Clause 7.6 of the Gujarat Self-Financed Schools (Fee Regulation) Rules, 2017, schools are required to publicly display the approved fee structure. This includes making the FRC order accessible to students and parents by publishing it on the school’s notice board as well as on its official website.However, it was found that the school had not complied with this rule. Additionally, under the provisions of the govt resolution dated Dec 2, 2014, and Section 19 of the Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009, failure to follow such directives attracts penalties.Ahmedabad City DEO has directed the school to deposit the penalty amount within two days through a govt challan.The school has also been instructed to immediately publish the FRC order on its notice board and website, and submit photographic proof of compliance to the authorities without delay.
