Ahmedabad: A 39-year-old woman from Thaltej filed a complaint with Vastrapur police alleging assault, criminal trespass and criminal intimidation amid a dispute over redevelopment work near her apartment complex. According to the complaint registered on Wednesday, the woman was at home with her mother and her 13-year-old son, who is disabled. She stated that demolition work related to the apartment complex’s redevelopment was underway, causing heavy dust and loud noise, which were troubling the family.The complaint stated that the neighbour had called police over the issue, after which the woman’s father, along with two other residents, went to the police station. “While they were away, the building secretary allegedly entered my house in the afternoon and began questioning me about my father’s whereabouts,” she stated in the complaint. The complaint stated that the accused caught hold of her hand. She further alleged that he asked her to come out of the house. “If you do not come out of the house, I will kill you and your father. If not today, then tomorrow, I will get the house vacated,” she alleged in the complaint. The complaint further said that when her father returned and objected to the alleged threats, the accused “slapped and abused” him too. Police have registered a case under sections pertaining to assault or use of criminal force with the intent to outrage a woman’s modesty, criminal trespass and house-trespass, and criminal intimidation.
