Ahmedabad: An income tax raid at a bungalow of a businessman in Bopal has led to the seizure of liquor. The Bopal police registered a case on Friday. The complaint stated that the police were informed that during an I-T raid at a residence in Vasant Bahar-1, officials found liquor stored inside the house.A police team arrived at the premises and began the formal seizure proceedings in the presence of two independent witnesses.The complaint quoted an I-T official as saying, “During the raid, Indian-made foreign liquor was found at the residence.”According to the complaint, officers recovered 33 bottles of different brands of liquor from the house. The total value of the seized stock was stated to be Rs 1,13,500.Police said the liquor was allegedly kept “illegally and without a permit”. A case was registered under the relevant sections of the Prohibition Act.
