Ahmedabad: The city experienced cloudy weather on Sunday, but rain continued to evade the city – and state at large. The temperatures remained higher than normal – the maximum temperature at 33.7 degrees was 2 degrees higher than normal, whereas at 27 degrees, the minimum temperature was 1.7 degrees higher than normal. Relative humidity (RH) was 75% at 8.30 am and 60% at 5.30 pm.The forecast indicated chances of generally cloudy sky with occasional spell of thundershower.According to forecast, light thunderstorm can be experienced in parts of Banaskantha, Vav-Tharad, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur and Narmada on Monday. Heavy rains at isolated places is likely in Aravalli, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, and Chhota Udepur, whereas light rains are expected in other parts of the state.It is notable that after the first week of August, the rains have largely been missing from the state. Gujarat has so far recorded 70% of its average annual rainfall.
