Ahmedabad: A charred body of a 50-year-old woman, Ganga Divakar, was found in the bushes near Noblenagar crossroads on Monday morning. The woman, who was mentally unstable, is believed to have committed suicide, police sources said. Airport police inspector N D Nakum said that initially, a case of accidental death was registered. “CCTV footage from the area showed the woman. Later, the family identified her as Ganga Divakar,” said Nakum. Nakum said that the woman appeared to be mentally unstable and hence she would have committed suicide. However, a case has been registered, and investigations are going on.The Forensic Science Laboratory team was also informed and called to the spot. Police said the body was found near the wall of Kotarpur Water Works, opposite Noblenagar crossroads. Since the body was charred, immediate identification of the deceased became difficult. The body was first noticed by a group of boys living in a nearby slum settlement. They immediately informed a traffic personnel posted at the crossroads, who then alerted the police control room.
