Ranchi: Living with a 60% locomotor disability caused by childhood polio, Hare Krishna Bagbatta has spent more than 25 years ensuring that students are not limited by their circumstances.Now principal in-charge of CM School of Excellence (SoE), Ramrudra, in Bokaro, Bagbatta believes academic success goes beyond marks. “Our responsibility is to identify students’ potential, guide them consistently and give them the confidence to aim higher,” he said.The school’s results reflect that approach. This year, it recorded a 100% pass rate in Class XII commerce and humanities and 98% in science, in which 154 students appeared. Of the 41 students from Jharkhand govt schools who qualified JEE Main, seven were from Ramrudra, while another student cleared NEET-UG. Around 15 students also ranked among the top 50 performers across CM Schools of Excellence in the Class X examination.Bagbatta, a biology gold medallist from Vinoba Bhave University, is a certified member of the Zoological Society of India. He received the ‘Young Scientist Award’ from the International Consortium of Contemporary Biologists in 2008 and has conducted research on oral cancer in eastern India.His contribution extends beyond classrooms. To help students unable to afford reference material, he donated more than 1,000 books from his personal collection to the school library. “These books are more useful to students than sitting on my shelves,” he said.Bagbatta joined the school as routine in-charge in 2012. After it became a CM SoE in 2023, he served as vice-principal under CBSE norms. He took charge as principal in-charge two months ago.
