GURGAON: A Thar driver allegedly rammed a cab multiple times in Sector 89 late Friday night following a quarrel among four men travelling in the SUV. The impact was severe enough to deploy both front airbags of the cab and leave one side of the vehicle badly damaged. No one was seriously injured.According to a police officer, one of the men involved was taken to a local government hospital for treatment and was discharged later.The incident was captured on video by people at the spot, with clips subsequently circulating on social media. The video shows the Thar being repeatedly driven into the cab. Police said no passengers were inside the cab when the repeated collisions took place.According to police, the four men had arrived in Sector 89 in a Delhi-registered Thar. An argument broke out among them, following which two men got out of the SUV and booked a Rapido cab to return home.The two men were waiting by the roadside when the cab arrived. Police said that as they were getting into the cab, one of their companions allegedly drove the Thar towards it and rammed the vehicle. He then reversed the SUV and struck the cab several times, causing extensive damage.The force of the collisions caused both front airbags of the cab to deploy. Eyewitnesses told police that the Thar occupants appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. Police, however, said this was part of the investigation.The cab driver called 112, following which a team from Kherki Daula police station reached the spot and began a preliminary investigation.Police said the Thar is registered in Delhi and efforts are underway to identify and trace the accused using the vehicle’s registration number. No case has been registered so far.“A formal complaint is yet to be submitted. Further action will be taken based on it,” the officer said.
