Gurgaon: A routine morning walk turned fatal for a 23-year-old man and his pet dog after they came into contact with a live power wire in Faridabad’s Rajiv Colony on Friday morning. A case has been registered against three people.Aman Chautala was electrocuted while trying to save the dog near Pandit Chowk, a short distance from his home. The dog came into contact with the wire, which was lying on a road, first. Aman moved towards it in an attempt to rescue it, but he himself came into contact with the live current. Both died at the spot.Family members of Aman, who worked at a private company, have accused the electricity department of negligence, alleging that the broken wire was neither removed nor the area cordoned off despite the potential danger to residents.A police officer said a case had been registered following a complaint from Aman’s father, Mukesh Kumar. “The case under Section 106 of the BNS, pertaining to death by negligence, has been registered at Sector 58 police station against the junior engineer, sub-divisional officer and lineman concerned,” the officer said. Aman’s body was sent for an autopsy.According to local residents, the wire had snapped during the night and fallen onto the road. “It was still lying there around 7am when Aman left home for his usual morning walk with his dog,” a resident said.
