Chennai: Affordplan and the Association of Healthcare Providers (India) – Tamil Nadu Chapter announced a strategic collaboration to enhance efficiency and transparency in healthcare procurement across the state.
Under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), member hospitals of AHPI-TN will gain access to Affordplan’s procurement optimisation platform, Procalyx, aimed at enabling product and price discovery in the pharmaceutical and medical device segments.
The healthcare sector has long grappled with fragmented procurement data, often resulting in price disparities for identical drugs and medical consumables. The integration of Procalyx is expected to provide hospitals with a standardised framework to evaluate products and benchmark market rates, facilitating more informed purchasing decisions.
The agreement also provides for preferential access and dedicated support to help member hospitals integrate the platform into their existing systems.
“The primary objective of this partnership is to replace information asymmetry with data-driven decision-making. By utilising Procalyx, hospitals can verify market benchmarks for pharmaceuticals and consumables in real time, which is critical for long-term operational sustainability,” said Anand Nevatia, Co-Founder, Affordplan.
Dr Sathish Devadoss, President, AHPI Tamil Nadu Chapter, said the collaboration comes at a time of rising healthcare costs and will help hospitals improve financial visibility while optimising resources without compromising on quality of care.
Echoing similar views, Adel J, Secretary, AHPI Tamil Nadu Chapter, said the platform would enable hospitals to compare procurement prices with market benchmarks, leading to smarter purchasing cycles and measurable cost efficiencies.
Dr Vicky Kothari, Head – Supply Chain, Affordplan, said the initiative would help reduce operational overheads linked to manual procurement processes and streamline acquisition of critical supplies through a verified digital ecosystem.
