Ranchi: Food safety officials found about 2 kg of adulterated paneer and industrial colouring agents in two chaat samples during an inspection at Morabadi vendor market on Friday. The seized items were destroyed on the spot.Officials inspected 40 stalls and tested 22 samples of paneer, sauces, chutneys, chaat and other items at a mobile food testing laboratory.Food safety officer Dr Pawan Kumar said two paneer samples failed to meet prescribed standards. At least 25 vendors were fined Rs 500 each for various violations as a warning.Officials also checked vendor food registrations, stall cleanliness, safe drinking water and the personal hygiene of staff preparing and serving food. They inspected whether workers used head caps, gloves and aprons and followed other essential hygiene practices.
