Mangaluru: Activist Jayanth T submitted a memorandum to the chief minister, home minister and DG&IGP of Karnataka seeking legal action against the seer of Shiroor Mutt for allegedly making provocative statements in connection with the alleged Dharmasthala case. Jayanth also sought action against a journalist who shared the seer’s statements on social media.According to the activist, Sri Vedavardhana Thirtha Swami of Shiroor Mutt had accused the activists in the Sowjanya murder case, of hatching a conspiracy. Furthermore, the seer had issued an open call to the public, urging the entire Hindu society to protest fiercely against this. “At a time when cases are being heard in courts, such a severe, provocative call coming from a religious seat is a systematic attempt to incite riots in society, disrupt law and order, and endanger the lives of activists,” Jayanth stated in the memorandum, and also sought action against the journalist for allegedly sharing the seer’s statement on social media.
