Bhubaneswar: Leaders and ‘karyakartas’ from across India took part in a daylong central working committee’s meeting of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) at Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday. The participants deliberated on education, youth affairs, national security and organisational expansion.The meeting was attended by ABVP national president Raghuraj Kishore Tiwari, national general secretary Virendra Singh Solanki and national organising secretary Ashish Chauhan.During the meeting, ABVP unanimously passed a congratulatory resolution praising the people of West Bengal for ‘re-establishing democratic values’ by defeating ‘politics of violence, fear and appeasement’. Discussions were also held on several campaigns and initiatives undertaken by the student organisation, including ‘Screen Time to Activity Time’, ‘150 Years of Vande Mataram’, ‘Hostel Survey Campaign’, ‘Mission Sahasi’, programmes marking the birth centenary year of Prof Yeshwantrao Kelkar, ‘350 Years of the Martyrdom Day of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur’, and the ‘650th Prakatyotsav of Sant Shiromani Ravidas Ji’.Addressing the gathering, Tiwari stressed the need for an education system rooted in Bharatiya philosophy and values to ensure holistic development of students. Solanki highlighted ABVP’s role in student movements across the country, including issues related to scholarships, paper leaks and student welfare. He said the meeting would strengthen the organisation’s resolve towards nation-building and social transformation.
