Mangaluru: The CCB of Mangaluru City police arrested a suspect who was absconding for nearly two years after failing to appear before court in several criminal cases.The accused is Faraz alias Mohammed Faraz,32, a resident of Deralakatte. City police commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy CH stated that the accused is involved in around 10 criminal cases registered across various police stations in Mangaluru city, including robbery, attempted murder, drug peddling, theft, and assault on prison officials while obstructing their duty. After being released on bail, he absconded and failed to attend court proceedings for nearly two years. At Ullal police station, four cases, including attempted murder, robbery, assault, and theft, have been registered against him. At Konaje police station, two cases related to assault, criminal intimidation, and theft are registered. At Mangaluru North police station, two cases involving assault, intimidation, kidnapping, and robbery are registered. At Barke police station, one case of attempted murder and obstruction of duty of officials is registered, while at Urva police station, one case related to drug peddling is registered. The accused is also listed as a rowdy-sheeter at Ullal police station, with six warrants and one proclamation currently pending against him. After his arrest, he was handed over to Urva police station for further legal action.
