Mangaluru: An absconding accused, who was evading court proceedings for nearly five years in connection with a pending case, was arrested by Venoor police.According to police, Manikanta, 35, a resident of Kaup in Udupi, who was absconding and failing to appear before the court for about five years, was arrested in Udupi. He was arrested in connection with a case pending before the Belthangady court. Following his arrest, he was produced before the Bantwal court judge. In another case, warrant accused Mohammed Ashraf, 38, a resident of Veerakamba, Bantwal, was also arrested in connection with a case registered at Bantwal police station. He was absconding and failing to appear before the Bantwal ACJ & JMFC Court. More than 10 warrants were issued against the accused.
