Ahmedabad: Union railways, electronics and IT minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Sunday said that work for the high-speed bullet train project between Ahmedabad and Mumbai is going on at a rapid pace, and they are hopeful of operationalizing the train next year. He said that at a speed of 350 kmph, the journey will be completed in 1 hour 57 minutes. He was speaking on the sidelines of the Gujarat Semiconnect Conference in Gandhinagar. He said that Gujarat was allocated Rs 17,366 crore in this year’s Union Budget, which is high compared to the UPA govt. Under the Amrit Station scheme, 87 stations are selected for world-class facilities. While 21 are completed, work is going on at Ahmedabad, Sabarmati, Surat, Udhna and Somnath.
