Margao: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) functionaries on Thursday visited petrol pumps and garages across the state, interacting with vehicle owners and mechanics who complained of engine problems and reduced mileage after the introduction of E20 petrol.State president Valmiki Naik said consumers and mechanics in North Goa reported water accumulation in fuel tanks, corrosion, carburettor issues and damaged fuel injectors since the rollout of E20. Naik said a Porvorim consumer showed visible ethanol-petrol separation in a fuel sample.Senior vice-president Sandesh Teleikar-Dessai, who interacted with vehicle owners in South Goa, said older vehicles designed for E10 fuel face higher repair costs due to E20 petrol usage.AAP demanded consumers be given a choice between pure and E20 petrol, with E20 priced lower to reflect its reduced calorific value, and urged people to sign a letter to the prime minister through StopE20Petrol.com portal.
